LEXINGTON Va. – The VMI baseball team will host Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) this weekend for a three-game non-conference series in Gray-Minor Stadium. The series will now open Friday at 5 p.m. (moved up from 6 p.m.) with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2 p.m.

VMI was defeated 3-0 Wednesday at Norfolk State University in a non-conference game. The Keydets (18-15) swept a three-game series against the Spartans last month in Lexington, outscoring the visitors 40-17.

About the Cougars:
SIUE is 19-12 overall and 5-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Cougars completed a three-game sweep at home of Eastern Illinois University, 7-0, 5-4 and 5-2 last weekend before falling at Bradley Tuesday 5-4.
Brady Bunten leads the team with a .345 batting average and ranks second in the nation with 17 doubles. Brannan Orf has a .342 average, nine doubles, nine home runs, a .500 on base percentage and a .703 slugging percentage with 41 runs.
