NORFOLK, Va. – The VMI baseball team was defeated Wednesday at Norfolk State University 3-0 in a non-conference game on Marty Miller Field.
The Keydets (18-15) swept a three-game series against the Spartans last month in Lexington, outscoring the visitors 40-17.
How it happened:
*Norfolk State lefthander Dalton Barham threw a complete game shutout against the top hitting team in NCAA Division I for batting average, limiting VMI to just two hits and one walk with 10 strikeouts
*The Spartans scored all of their runs in the third, aided by a two-run double from Jacob Council
