Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. – The VMI baseball team had its four-game winning streak snapped Tuesday afternoon, falling 9-4 at James Madison University in non-conference play from Veterans' Memorial Park.
How it happened:
VMI scored two runs each in the second and third frames, but the Dukes plated one in the first, four in the second, one in the fourth and three in the fifth to take a 9-4 lead after five. The two pitching staffs didn't allow another run the rest of the way.
Highlights:
*Brett Cook had a hit and scored two runs with one RBI
*Owen Prince went 1-2 with a walk and an RBI
*Zac Morris, Justin Starke, Cole Garrett and Cole Jenkins each had singles
*Clark Driscoll closed the game out with 1 1/3 innings of perfect relief
*Caden Plummer didn't allow a baserunner in one inning out of the bullpen and Alex LaRou didn't give up a run in 2/3 of an inning
*Kyle Novak had three hits and three RBI for JMU (7-5)

VMI (9-5) is scheduled for three games this weekend against Radford University. Friday's game is slated for a 6 p.m. start in Lexington; Saturday's contest is at Radford at 4 p.m. and the teams head back to Lexington Sunday for the finale at 1 p.m.
