- The teams traded opportunities with Westcliff opening the scoring nearly five minutes into the match

- With the score 4-4, Westcliff closed the half on a 4-0 run
- The Warriors extended their lead to seven towards the end of the third, but
Sadie Smith would continue to score as VMI cut the deficit to five as the teams battled down the stretch before Westcliff pulled away 18-10
