LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI baseball team scored three runs in the seventh inning to tie the game Wednesday, but James Madison University rallied late for a 9-3 win in non-conference play from Gray-Minor Stadium.
How it happened:
JMU opened a 3-0 lead with single runs in the second, third and fifth innings. The Keydets fought back in the seventh, with
Jacob Farrar and
Cole Jenkins drawing one-out walks, followed by a
Ty Swaim single to load the bases.
Trey Morgan brought Farrar home on a fielder's choice and
Justin Starke singled to plate two and tie the game 3-3. The Dukes scored two in the eighth and four more in the ninth to extend the lead.
