BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Despite major decisions from senior Job Chishko and freshman Ryan Vigil, the VMI wrestling team fell 20-14 at Gardner-Webb University Friday evening in a Southern Conference match.
Highlights:
*Chishko won 10-1 by major decision at 157, the first contest of the evening.
*Vigil got ahead early at 149 and never looked back, scoring a 14-3 major decision victory
*Senior Jon Hoover won 3-2 at 174 to put VMI ahead early in the action
*Sophomore Josh Evans posted a 6-2 victory to give the Keydets a 10-9 lead
*Braxton Lewis fell just 3-1 at 165 against ranked opponent R.J. Mosley
