ST. PAUL, Minn. – The VMI women's water polo team finished up its four games at the Macalester College Invitational Sunday, falling 15-8 to McKendree University. 

Sydney Smith scored three times for VMI, while Sadie Smith had two goals. Courtney Novotny, Gia Donatelli and Sydney Shettleroe each had one goal. Shettleroe had three assists  while Donatelli recorded three steals. Katie Lloyd made nine stops in net and added three steals. 

The game was tied at three all after one period, but the Bearcats opened a 7-4 advantage at halftime that they extended to 12-6 in the second half to take control of the game.

VMI is off until a four-game stretch in California March 11-15.
