Box Score 2 ST. PAUL, Minn. – Four Keydets recorded five-goal games Saturday as the VMI women's water polo team split a pair of contests at the Macalester College Invitational.
Augustana 16, VMI 13
The Keydets faced former head coach Ryan Pryor's team in the first game of the day.
Courtney Novotny and
Sadie Smith each scored five times for VMI, while
Sydney Smith,
Caragh Osborne and
Sydney Shettleroe all had one goal apiece.
Sadie Smith, Shettleroe and Osborne each added three assists and Novotny had two.
Sydney Smith had four steals.
VMI 21, Carthage 6
Against Carthage it was the two Sydney's (Smith and Shettleroe) that scored five times. Novotny,
Gia Donatelli and
Julia Ward posted hat tricks and combined for nine assists and
Sadie Smith and Osborne had a goal and three assists apiece. The Keydets recorded 15 steals, with Donatelli leading the way with four and
Sydney Smith had six drawn exclusions.
Katie Lloyd made six saves in each match.
