VMI Head Coach James Purpura
"It's not the result we wanted, but I'm incredibly proud of our men for their competition level tonight. Credit to High Point - they're a strong program that was receiving votes in the Top 20 the first week of the season and we had kept pace with them until late in the game. We had a few guys go down in the last week and we continue to have a next-man-up mentality. We had several guys get their first collegiate starts and make some impact plays. What I love most about this group is their hunger to learn and desire to get better every day. We didn't play our best game tonight and we certainly have stuff to correct, but I'm encouraged with a lot of what we saw."
