CORALVILLE, IOWA – The VMI wrestling team finished competition Saturday at the two-day 2023 Soldier Salute at the Xtream Arena. 

Senior Tyler Mousaw placed eighth at 285 pounds after two wins on Friday, but fell to tough opponents from Iowa and Nebraska Saturday. 

Several other Keydets competed in the last chance (silver) bracket Saturday.

Some highlights include: 
*Sophomore Dyson Dunham finished 1-1 at 133 pounds to take third and won his match 16-1 by technical fall 
*Sophomore Ryan Vigil placed third in the last chance bracket with a 1-1 record. He defeated his opponent from Minnesota 3-2  
*Junior Josh Evans also was 1-1 on the day to finish third at 197 pounds  

Next Time: 
*The Keydets are off for two weeks before returning home to face Hofstra University Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. in Cormack Hall.
