LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Water Polo head coach Danielle Montenegro announced the program's 2024 schedule on Friday.
Prior to their championship season (2024), the Keydets will face the Georgetown, Notre Dame and North Carolina club teams in a University of Virginia showcase this month.
The 2024 slate features eight home matches at the state-of-the-art VMI Aquatic Center, including non-conference and conference (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) tournaments to go with 14 road contests.
VMI will open up its 2024 campaign with five straight home games, hosting McKendree University on February 3 to begin the season. After three matches against Mercyhurst, Gannon and Mount St. Mary's that same weekend, VMI hosts Salem on February 11.
Mid-February brings four games in Minnesota hosted by Macalester College, while the Keydets then open March out west in Claremont, California.
From there, the Keydets dive into MAAC play, facing Mount St. Mary's, Marist, LIU, and La Salle in Lexington.
The 2024 slate concludes with trips to Staten Island, Long Island and Philadelphia, with the MAAC Tournament set to be held April 26-28.
