LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men's soccer team will wrap up the 2023 regular season with a pair of road contests this week. The Keydets will travel to Charlotte, N.C. to face Queens University Wednesday at 5 p.m. and face The University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) Saturday at 6 p.m. in a Southern Conference match. The Keydets will compete in the SoCon Championship Tournament next weekend.

About VMI:
The
Keydets held the Terriers scoreless through the first half and the first nine minutes of the second half, but Wofford College defeated VMI 1-0 Saturday in a Southern Conference game. Freshman
Kyle Grant forced the Terrier goalkeeper to make a save with 12 minutes remaining in the game, and fellow freshman
Freddy Ferguson followed with a shot about four minutes later.
Zack Murphy made five saves to keep VMI close.
Grant leads the Keydets with five goals and three assists while junior
Cole Mooney has two goals and five assists.
About Queens:
Queens is 4-8-2 on the year after defeating the University of North Florida Saturday 1-0 on the road. The Royals are 2-4 in the Atlantic Sun Conference and after a slow start have won three of the last five games. Michel Feldman has scored five goals with four assists for 14 points on the year and Mario Gioc has three tallies.
About UNCG:
The defending Southern Conference champions and an Elite Eight team from a year ago is just 1-9-5 on the year and 0-2-2 in conference action. UNCG tied Mercer and Wofford at home 1-1 the last two Saturday evenings. The Spartans have netted nine goals on the year, three from Arnaud Tattevin.
