LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men's soccer team has two home games this week on Patchin Field, the last remaining home contests on the 2023 schedule. The Keydets play Regent University Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a non-conference game and host East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in a Southern Conference match.
VMI will close out the regular season with four road games, two against SoCon opponents.

VMI played one of the top teams in the Southern Conference tough on Saturday, but fell 1-0 to Furman University on Senior Day on

VMI had 11 shots on the afternoon and held a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. The
Keydets fired the last three shots of the contest, including two in the final minute. An
Amari Benjamin attempt was saved by the keeper and
Timofey Dovgalyuk had a shot go wide as time expired. Sophomore keeper
Zack Murphy made six saves.
About Regent:
The Royals come into Wednesday's match having won two-straight, 1-0 at Barton College on September 29 and by forfeit Saturday against Carolina Christian College. Regent is 4-6 on the year.
Freshman Tyler Hambright scored in the win against Barton while freshman goalkeeper Connor Henriques made 12 saves to post the shutout. Hambright has five goals and one assist on the year.
About ETSU:
The Bucs are 4-5-2 on the year and 1-0-1 in the Southern Conference. ETSU rolled 6-0 over UNCG Friday and tied Wofford College 0-0 on September 30.
Gabriel Ramos has a team-best 11 points with four goals and three assists while Chris McKenna has three goals and two assists.
