LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team fell 37-0 Friday night against nationally-ranked Appalachian State University in a Southern Conference match from Cormack Hall.

The Mountaineers are tied for 21st in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Poll this week and No. 20 in Intermat's team rankings and have six individual wrestlers ranked in the NCAA top 30.

*Sophomore Josh Evans scored a takedown in the final minute to tie the score in the 285 pound match, but his opponent earned a point with an escape and hung on for a 4-3 win
*Freshman Braxton Lewis battled #26 Will Formato to a 5-0 decision
*Junior Tyler Mousaw dropped his match at 197 pounds just 8-5 and senior Zach Brown fell just 6-2 at 184
