LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team will compete in two Southern Conference matches this weekend, hosting Appalachian State University Friday and traveling to Presbyterian College Sunday.
The Keydets welcome the Mountaineers to Cormack Hall at 7 p.m. Friday evening and are scheduled for a noon start time Sunday in Clinton, S.C.

Last Time Out:
VMI wrestled three matches in New York last weekend and several Keydets excelled, including junior Tyler Mousaw. He went 2-1 with both wins by pin. He needed just 1:38 to win by fall over his foe from LIU and only 1:51 to pin his Sacred Heart opponent. For the year, Mousaw is 17-7 with nine pins.

About Appalachian State:
The Mountaineers tied for 21st in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Poll this week and No. 20 in Intermat's team rankings. App State has won 19 of the 20 contested matches in its league victories to date against Bellarmine (39-0) and The Citadel (34-6). Overall, Caleb Smith (125 pounds) and Will Formato (165) are both unbeaten in duals this season with 7-0 and 6-0 records, respectively.

About Presbyterian:
The Blue Hose are 3-5 on the year and 0-1 in the SoCon. In dual meets on January 5, Presbyterian beat Brown 25-15 and fell to Franklin & Marshall 33-9.
