LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men's basketball team rallied to make it a one-possession game with three minutes to play but could get no closer as Mercer University posted a 69-61 Southern Conference victory in Cameron Hall.

The Bears opened a 12-point lead (63-51) with under five minutes to play but the Keydets scratched back into the game with a 9-0 run over the next two minutes. Mercer made it's last four free throws to seal the win.

Notables:
*Senior Sean Conway scored a game-high 18 points with eight rebounds
*Freshman Asher Woods corralled a career-best 11 rebounds, which was also a game-high
*Freshman Tyler Houser had 14 points while fellow freshman Tony Felder, Jr. had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists
*Devin Butler scored seven points and Taeshaud Jackson II had seven rebounds and four assists
*Kamar Robertson and Jalyn McCreary each had 14 points for Mercer (9-11/2-5 SoCon)
*Mercer forced 18 turnovers while only committing seven
