WASHINGTON, D.C. – A huge rally from the VMI men's soccer team fell just short Sunday as Howard University held on for a 4-3 non-conference win in Greene Stadium.

The Bison led 4-1 with just 11:20 on the game clock, but goals from Rider Holcomb and Woongchan Oh over the next four minutes cut the advantage to only one.

How it happened:
*Cole Mooney, Holcomb and Oh each scored for VMI, while Nathan Lam and Tate Pospichal had assists

*Mooney's goal two minutes after halftime tied the game at one

*Senior Gabe Calhoun made 10 stops for VMI

*The Keydets fired 15 shots, 11 on goal, and had six corner kicks. All six corners took place after intermission as did 13 shots.
