CHICAGO, Ill. – Stats Perform announced its preseason watch list for the 2022 Buck Buchanan Award – given to the national defensive player of the year in FCS – with VMI's Stone Snyder being one of just 35 players to land on the list. 
 
A senior linebacker, Snyder has been a finalist for the Buck Buchanan award for the last two seasons, finishing in the top three following the Spring 2021 season. A two-time All-American, Snyder earned first-team All-Southern Conference honors for a second-straight year last season and was recognized by the media as the SoCon Defensive Player of the Year.

This year, Snyder has been named preseason All-American by four different organizations, and was named to the preseason All-SoCon First Team Defense.
