From Coach Regan
"Credit to every member of this team, from those that played today, to those cheering from the touch lines. We are changing the mentality of this program, we fought hard and deserved more from the game. It says a lot that this group is disappointed in coming away with a tie. The standards are being raised and this kind of performance a long way from home bodes well as we build for Longwood next week."
How it Happened
Keydet sophomore
Viktor Petrusevski was taken down inside the box at the 28:18 mark of the first half and senior captain
Nathan Lam converted the ensuing penalty kick to open a 1-0 lead. St. Peter's answered with a penalty kick goal from Reiss Skeen in the 37
th minute.
With 52 seconds left in the first half, junior
Jakub Mihulka took a feed from senior
Josh Lam and sent it into the top right corner of the net to again put VMI up a goal.
The Keydets held the one-goal lead until Mikkel Fodstad scored an unassisted tally with 14 minutes on the game clock. VMI had an opportunity to net a potential game-winner with just over a minute left on a 4-on-3 chance, but the Peacock defense broke up the scoring threat before the Keydets could get a shot on goal.
