LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI baseball team begins the last week of the 2022 regular season Tuesday with a home game against Old Dominion University at 5 p.m. in Gray-Minor Stadium. The game time was pushed back from 3 p.m.
The two teams squared off on March 22 in Norfolk with the Monarchs, ranked #18 at the time, winning 6-2. VMI's

Cole Garrett each went 3-4.
Caden Plummer started the game and threw four solid innings, and six other pitchers combined to keep the ODU offense in check and VMI within striking distance.
The Keydets took the first game 10-9 in a Southern Conference series at Mercer University this weekend, but the Bears won the last two, including the finale 8-7 in 13 innings.

Zac Morris had a huge series at Mercer, hitting .538 with three home runs and a double in the three games for a slugging percentage of 1.308. He also drew three walks for an on base percentage of .588 and scored six runs and drove in six.
ODU swept visiting Marshall University this weekend by scores of 13-8, 8-7 (12 inn.) and 5-4. The Monarchs improve to 34-15 on the season.
VMI (16-35) concludes the regular season with a series against conference-leading Wofford College at home. The games are set for 6 p.m. Thursday, 2 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. The Keydets will honor the program's seven seniors in a pre-game ceremony Saturday.
