PHILADELPHIA & VILLANOVA, Pa. – Despite six goals on the day from senior
Makenna Moore, the VMI women's water polo team was defeated Saturday at La Salle (24-7) and Villanova (16-9) Universities.
La Salle 24, VMI 7
Moore and
Genevieve Petrassi each had two goals against the Explorers and
Maddie Berry had two assists.
Kiara Anguiano,
Caragh Osborne and
Ellie Pickford each also had goals and Anguiano drew two exclusions.
Shanna Zuanich had four goals and three assists for La Salle.
Villanova 16, VMI 9
Moore found the back of the net four times against the Wildcats and had an assist.
Sydney Shettleroe scored twice and Petrassi had a goal and assist. Anguiano and Berry each had a score for the Keydets.
Kaysie Stuba had five goals and two assists for Villanova (20-15/9-7 MAAC).
VMI closes out the 2022 regular season 4-26 and 1-15 in conference play.
