STATEN ISLAND and NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The VMI women's water polo team dropped a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Sunday, at #15 Wagner College and at Iona College.
Wagner 22, VMI 11
Sydney Shettleroe had a hat trick at Wagner, netting three goals with two assists and drawing four exclusions.
Makenna Moore also had three goals while
Courtney Novotny had two.
Genevieve Petrassi had a goal, three assists and three steals and
Caragh Osborne had a goal and two assists.
Kiara Anguiano also scored and
Maddie Berry distributed two assists.
Katie Lloyd made seven stops.
Andrea Arias had four scores for Wagner.
Iona 20, VMI 9
The Keydets ha a balanced offensive attack in the second game as Petrassi, Novotny,
Gia Donatelli and Shettleroe each had two goals. Osborne had three assists and Shettleroe set a new program single game record with eight drawn exclusions. Anguiano contributed a goal and two assists. Lloyd made eight stops.
Laura Rocket scored five times for the Gaels.
VMI travels back to New York next weekend for four more
MAAC matches.
