GROVE CITY, Pa. – The VMI women's water polo team rolled to two victories Saturday at the Grove City College Invitational, closing out the weekend's action with a 3-0 record.
Senior
Genevieve Petrassi notched eight goals Saturday morning in a 25-13 win over the host school. Her totals ties her for second place for the most goals scored in a match in program history.
Sydney Shettleroe had five goals, two assists and three steals and
Gia Donatelli compiled three goals, five assists and two steals.
Kiara Anguiano scored four goals with two assists
Courtney Novotny had a hat trick and
Caragh Osborne tallied a goal and three assists.
Katelynn Riley also found the back of the net and
Katie Lloyd made eight saves.
Shettleroe paced the offense with four goals in a 17-5 win over Washington & Jefferson College. Osborne had two goals and three assists, Anguiano had two goals and two assists and Novotny,
Makenna Moore and Donatelli each had two goals and an assist.
Maddie Berry contributed a goal and three assists, Petrassi totaled a goal, two assists and seven steals and
Ellie Pickford also scored. Lloyd made five saves.
The Keydets (3-7) are scheduled for four matches March 12-16 in California.
