LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI women's water polo team is scheduled to compete in three matches this weekend at the Grove City College (Pa.) Invitational at the James E. Locknecker Competition Pool.

The Keydets will face Penn State Behrend Friday evening at 6 p.m., followed with matches against Grove City Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Washington & Jefferson college Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

VMI defeated Grove City twice in the 2020 season by scores or 27-12 and 23-11. The 27 goals in a match set a school record. Several current Keydets had big stats lines as Kiara Anguiano netted seven goals while Genevieve Petrassi compiled four tallies, one assist and three steals. Gia Donatelli had three goals and two assists.

In seven matches so far this year, Sydney Shettleroe has 15 goals, while Petrassi has scored eight.

VMI heads to the West Coast to play four matches in California March 12-16.
