LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI baseball team released its 2023 schedule Friday, with 55 games slated and 33 home contests on the docket.

The Keydets open the season at SEC member Mississippi State Feb. 17-19 and also have the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech on the early-season non-conference schedule.

"I'm very excited for this year's schedule," said first-year head coach Sam Roberts. "Our non-conference schedule will help prepare us for our Southern Conference schedule. Opening up at Mississippi State is going to provide our guys an experience many have never had before, and we are really looking forward to our time in Starkeville.  We play multiple Power 5 schools, as well as 5 programs that made the NCAA Tournament last year. I am looking forward to our guys competing at the highest level."

VMI opens play in Gray-Minor Stadium on Post Feb. 24-26 against Holy Cross and will welcome Coppin State, Norfolk State and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to Lexington for non-conference weekend series.

SoCon play begins for the Keydets March 24-26 at Wofford College. The conference tournament will be held at Flour Field in Greenville, S.C. May 24-28.
