Hot shooting lifts VMI to 108-58 win over Regent

LEXINGTON, Va. –
The VMI men's basketball team drilled 19 three-pointers and hit 66 percent of its shots Saturday afternoon to earn a 108-58 victory over visiting Regent University from Cameron Hall.

The 19 three-pointers ties for the eighth-most in school history and the 108 points is the most scored since last season's opening game against Carlow University.

Inside the Box Score:
  • Senior Sean Conway drilled 6-of-7 three-pointers for 20 points and Devin Butler hit 5-6 from beyond the arc and finished with a career-high 16 points with six rebounds
  • Freshman Asher Woods netted a game-high 21 points, hitting 8-of-10 from the field
  • Freshman Rickey Bradley, Jr. posted game and career-highs of 11 rebounds and seven assists to go with six points
  • Tony Felder, Jr. had 16 points and five assists
  • Tyler Houser scored 15 and nailed three treys
  • Sam Wolfe was a perfect 3-3 from the floor for a career-high nine points
  • The Keydets made 37-of-56 (66.1%) overall and 19-of-33 (57.6%) from deep
  • The VMI defense held the Royals to just 3-23 shooting (13%) from beyond the three-point arc
  • Matthew Mealy made all nine of his shots for Regent to post a team-high 18 points
  • Darrin Clark scored 12 for the visitors and Stanley Adjei had eight points and a team-best five boards
