Ripley Earns VMI’s Three-Legged Stool Award

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI senior lacrosse team member Scout Ripley was recently honored with VMI's prestigious Three-Legged Stool Award at VMI's Center for Leadership and Ethics.

The award is based on a vote from VMI faculty and staff throughout post and given annually to the top VMI cadet-athlete who excels academically, militarily and athletically.

On the lacrosse field, Ripley has registered 50 career goals and needs just 20 more to join VMI's prestigious 70-Goal Club - despite a Covid-shortened 2020 freshman season. He also owns 64 career points and needs only 36 more to join VMI's 100-Point Club. He tallied 41 as a junior in 2022.

Academically, he is a two-time member of the Southern Conference All-Academic Team, the SoCon Honor Roll and was named to the VaSID Academic All-State team in 2022.

Last season, he finished ninth in the SoCon in goals per game at 1.87 and ranked second in the league in shots per game at 8.60. Ripley finished ranked first on the team in points (41), goals (28) and shots (129) and finished second in assists with 13.
