LEXINGTON, Va. – The regular season has not ended, but redshirt senior
Robert Soderholm has earned some national recognition already, as he was named a SpecialTeamsU All-American on Friday afternoon.
A three-time All-American, Soderholm serves as the long snapper for all VMI special teams snaps and was named a 2022 preseason All-American by FCS Stats, Hero Sports and Phil Steele. In addition to his clean snaps, the Stafford, Virginia, native is asked to pick up blocks immediately after the snap – something not all long snappers are responsible for.
Soderholm and four other players across the country join a distinguished list of players who have been named SpecialTeamsU All-American. SpecialTeamsU balances snap accuracy and speed, athleticism, coverage ability, blocking ability, character and size in their selection process.
