LEWISBURG, Pa. – The VMI women's water polo team opened the 2022 season Saturday at the Bucknell University Invitational, dropping both matches.
Gannon 12, VMI 11 3 OT
Nicole Wiemken scored the game winner for Gannon with 46 seconds left.
Sydney Shettleroe had a hat trick, as did
Gia Donatelli. Caragh Osbourne had two goals and
Ellie Pickford,
Maddie Berry and Gia Petrassi each had a goal.
Katie Lloyd made six saves in net, and Petrassi had two assists.

Moore, Pickford and Donatelli scored for VMI.
Emese Szucs scored five goals for the Red Flash as they went 2-0 on the day.
VMI is scheduled to face Mount St. Mary's (Md.) Sunday at 10:40 a.m. and Wagner College at 1:20 p.m.
