HARRISONBURG, Va. – Three Keydets found the back of the net Tuesday evening as the VMI men's soccer team defeated Eastern Mennonite University 3-1 in non-conference
play. VMI controlled the action for most of the evening to post its first win of the season.
VMI struck first just 4:46 into the game as
AJ Dale scored from
Gavin Miller. The Royals briefly tied the game on a tally from Cole Ours at 36:25 but
Jakub Mihulka gave VMI the lead again just before halftime on an assist from
Warner Collier.
Nathan Lam provided an insurance goal for the Keydets at 61:40.
Broden Schull made two saves for VMI. The Keydets held a 31-3 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
Ahmed Zaatar made seven stops for EMU (0-9).
VMI (1-9) hosts Belmont University Saturday at 2 p.m. in a Southern Conference matchup.
