The all-time series between the two teams has been extremely hard fought, with five overtime games and six ties in 14 all-time clashes. Howard defeated VMI 4-2 in 2019, with
Nathan Lam scoring one of the Keydet goals. The game, played in Lexington, was called with 10:30 left in the contest due to adverse weather in the area and after nearly an hour delay. The Keydets and Bison fought to a 0-0 double overtime tie in Washington, D.C. in 2018, with then freshman goalie
Broden Schull making eight saves to preserve the shutout.
Wofford defeated VMI 8-1 Saturday despite a tally from Lam. It was the first Southern Conference game of the season for the Keydets.
Howard (0-2-2) has been off for 10 days since falling 4-0 at Marist.
VMI (0-7) returns to SoCon play Saturday at UNCG at 7 p.m.
