ROCK HILL, S.C. – After a great week of practice and conditioning, the VMI men's and women's cross country teams performed well as the men placed first in an 8K race and the women third in a 5K race at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The men placed first with 48 points to top Charleston Southern's 76 points and The Citadel's 85 points. Wofford (89), Winthrop (126) and Benedict College (148) and nine other schools followed in pursuit of VMI.

The VMI women came in third place with 106 points behind only South Carolina (28) and SoCon foe Wofford (46). The Keydets defeated Winthrop (120), Gardner-Webb (137), The Citadel (175) and five other programs in the 11-team field.
