LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI women's water polo team returns to Villanova University this weekend for three more matches at the University's Swim Complex. VMI is slated to play Mount St. Mary's University (Md.) Saturday at 5 p.m. and Gannon and Salem (W. Va.) Universities Sunday at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
The Keydets played three matches at Villanova last weekend as well. Sophomore
Sydney Shettleroe paced VMI with seven goals, and added four assists. Sophomore
Catherine Ahumada (6g, 6a) and junior
Genevieve Petrassi (5g, 7a) each are tied for the team lead with 12 points, while
Gia Donatelli and Caragh Osbourne each have eight points.
VMI will play two of the same schools that it faced last weekend. The Keydets defeated Mount St. Mary's Sunday 20-4 but fell to Salem Saturday 18-10.
