LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI baseball team is scheduled to open its 2021 season at the University of Virginia Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Ted Davenport Field at Disharoon Park. The Cavaliers are ranked 14th in the nation by
Collegiate Baseball this week.

The Keydets will turn to red-shirt sophomore left-hander Nathan light on the mound. He boasted a 2.45 ERA, the second-lowest on the team. He pitched in four games, starting three. Light struck out 16 batters in 14 2/3 innings and opponents hit just .204 against him.
Virginia enters the game with a 2-1 record, taking two of three contests last weekend against Connecticut (W 2-1, L 9-10, W 4-2). The Cavaliers will have lefty Nate Savino as their starting pitcher.
VMI is scheduled to host NJIT this weekend in a four-game series on Gray-Minor Stadium.
