WVU Defeats VMI Wrestling 36-3
LEXINGTON, Va. – West Virginia University defeated the VMI wrestling team 36-3 Sunday afternoon from Cormack Hall in the Keydets 2021-22 season home opener.
The veteran Mountaineer team took advantage of its experience against the young Keydets, starting six freshmen and three sophomores on the afternoon.

Tyler Mousaw hung on to score a 6-4 victory at 197 pounds to up his record to 5-3 on the season. Junior
Jon Hoover trailed just 2-1 at 174 entering the final period but fell 4-1. Junior
Solomon Harris won an extra match at 285 9-6.
The Keydets will next compete at the Southern Scuffle Jan. 1-2, hosted by Chattanooga.
