Manheim, Pa. – The VMI wrestling team had a strong outing Sunday at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic, held at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex.
VMI had four wrestlers place second in their respective pool weight classes, three third-place finishes and two fourth place outings.
Freshman
Sam Congleton finished second in his pool at 125 pounds, going 2-1 on the day with one pin. Freshman
Justin Hart placed second at 184 pounds, winning two matches and
Josh Evans fell just 3-2 in the championship match at 285 pounds to take second after two victories.
Max Gourley took second in his pool at 184 pounds, winning two matches by pin.
Zach Brown finished third at 184 pounds, going 2-1 on the day.
Luke Hart was third at 149 while
Jake Waldron was third at 157, winning one match by fall.
Freddy Junko took fourth at 141 pounds,
Joel Diaz was fourth at 174 and
Job Chishko (165) and
Jon Hoover (174),
Solomon Harris (285) and
Isaac Dolph (285) were each fifth.
VMI will compete in the Navy Classic in Annapolis. Md. this Saturday.
