VMI Water Polo Win Streak up to Eight
GROVE CITY, Pa. – The VMI women's water polo team won two more matches Sunday at the Grove City College Invitational to extend its winning streak to eight, the longest in program history. The Keydets won six in a row two times, in 2017 and 2018.
VMI opened with a 11-10 victory over Gannon University Sunday morning.
Emma Noble posted two goals and two assists,
McKenna Imset had two goals and an assist and
Emma Perez and
Sydney Shettleroe also each scored twice.
Genevieve Petrassi had a goal and two assists and
Makenna Moore had two assists. Issi French had a full stat line of 13 saves, two steals and one assist.
Imset had five scores in a 23-11 win over Grove City.
Catherine Ahumada had three goals and three assists,
Zoe Salafatinos posted three goals and two assists while
Paris Alvarado had three goals and an assist. Moore had two goals, three assists and three steals and
Gia Donatelli and
Maddie Berry each got on the scoreboard twice. Noble and Perez each had a goal and two assists and
Kiara Anguiano also scored.
Bridget Hughes earned the win in net with nine saves and three assists.
The Keydets (9-1) travel to Wittenberg University (Ohio) Sunday at noon.
