Red-shirt sophomore Will Knight has started the 2020 season on a tear at the plate, and was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for his efforts. After earning the award, he raised his already stout batting average to .563 by going 3-4 at James Madison University Tuesday. He has four doubles and a triple on the year for a .750 slugging percentage. Freshman lefty Trey Morgan threw five innings out of the bullpen at JMU and was the tough-luck loser after allowing just two runs, two hits and two walks with three strikeouts. For the season, Morgan has a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings and five appearances.

VMI's scheduled game at home against Norfolk State University Wednesday was postponed with no make-up date yet set.

The Keydets hosted Quinnipiac for a three-game series in March of 2017, with VMI winning two of the three contests.

Quinnipiac has started the season 0-6, getting swept at the University of Texas at San Antonio and James Madison University. Braydon Seaburg has the best batting average on the team at .308 while Evan Vulgamore has homered twice. Christian Nicolos has two quality starts and a 0.79 ERA, but only a 0-1 record to show for it.
