In their second match of the day, the Keydets opened a 6-3 lead midway through the third quarter. Three-straight Laker goals tied the game and Sarah Hershey scored the game-winner with just one second on the game clock.

French had 11 saves for VMI (3-2). Dolitsky had a hat trick, Noble scored twice and Salafatinos had a tally.

Hershey had four scores for Mercyhurst.

VMI travels to St. Paul, Minnesota next weekend for the Macalester College Invitational with five matches scheduled in a three-day span.
