Water Polo Tops Siena to Close New York Weekend

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The VMI water polo team finished its first New York MAAC weekend of the season with a victory Sunday over host Siena by a 15-9 score in Loudonville, New York.

Junior Natalie Rivas led the way for the Keydets (15-4, 4-1) with four goals followed three from Cecilya Lundy, Bailey Huddleston and Haley Scott. Sarah Dolitsky and Shelby Barkley contributed the other two scores. 

Isabel French played three quarters in the cage for VMI and earned nine saves, allowing five goals. Junior Catie Berry played the fourth quarter and earned two saves.

The Keydets return to action next weekend to host their own MAAC weekend when a total of 12 water polo matches will take place at Clark King Pool.

VMI will be competing in four of them, first taking on La Salle at 9 a.m. on Saturday and St. Francis (Brooklyn) at 5:30 p.m. The Keydets then face Wagner Sunday at noon and against Iona at 5:30 in the finale.
