MACON, Ga. -- The Virginia Military Institute men's soccer team fell victim to a hat trick from Mercer University's Will Bagrou Saturday afternoon in Macon, Ga. The Bears, who sit atop the Southern Conference standings, swept the season series against VMI with the decision at Bear Field.

Bagrou scored twice in the first half, with markers in the seventh and 24th minutes. His first marker was unassisted while David Murtaugh and Ian Antley had helpers on the second marker. Jordan Duru and Chandler Klemm assisted Bagrou's third goal.

VMI (1-14-1, 0-8-0 SoCon) got eight saves from junior keeper Alex Guerra, including five in the second half. His counterpart, Greg Ranjitsingh made five stops, with four coming in the second half.

Mercer (11-5-0, 7-1-0 SoCon) out-shot VMI 21-9, with four different Bears taking three shots apiece. Bagrou hit all three of his shots for goals. The Keydets shooting efforts were paced by Hunter Morgan, who took two attempts, both goalward shots.
