Dickinson Named Big South Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - VMI outfielder Rob Dickinson has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Player of the Week, according to information released by the league Monday.

Dickinson batted .500 with 10 hits and eight RBIs to lead the Keydets to a 4-1 record last week, including a series win over Conference foe Longwood.  He hit safely in all five games he played in and posted two games with three hits and one game with two hits.  The outfielder notched three multi RBI games and drove in three runs in the win over Richmond on March 20.  He also recorded three doubles, a pair of home runs and a triple to finish the five-game span with a slugging percentage of 1.050.  Dickinson closed out the week with a stolen base in all three games vs. the Lancers. It is his second career Big South Player of the Week honor.

VMI baseball returns to action Tuesday, taking on Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
