WHITTIER,
Calif. – In its fifth game since Friday afternoon, the VMI women's water polo
squad fell to Whittier College 14-2 on Monday. The game was part of the Keydets'
west coast spring furlough trip.
Freshman
Mackenzie Perkins extended her goal scoring streak to six games in the loss to
the Poets (8-10). In addition to Perkins' goal, VMI (1-5) got a tally from
senior captain Sam Farr.
Senior
goalkeeper Amanda Berrios made nine saves in the game while adding four steals
to her stat line. One of her saves was an impressive stop on a backhanded shot.
The
Keydets are idle until Thursday morning when they travel to Occidental, Calif. for
a doubleheader. VMI will take on Occidental at 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (2
p.m. EST). Following the first game, the Keydets challenge Vanguard at 1 p.m. PST
(4 EST).
