Kwan Evans recently completed his first year, 2010, as a volunteer assistant coach with the VMI baseball program. Evans worked with the Keydet outfielders, utilizing his collegiate experience as a former center fielder for Virginia Commonwealth. During the 2010 season, one of Evans' proteges, Graham Sullivan, was named Second Team All-Big South and enjoyed a breakout season.
A 2007 graduate of VCU with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks & Sports Management, Evans later earned a master’s in Sport Leadership from the VCU Center for Sport Leadership in 2008. A four-year letterman, Evans helped the Rams to a pair of CAA Conference Championships and NCAA appearances, playing in the 2005 Coral Gables Regional and the 2007 Myrtle Beach Regional. He was also a 2005 CAA All-Rookie team selection following a freshman year during which he hit .312 with 15 doubles and 13 stolen bases.
Since graduation, Evans has completed a strength & conditioning internship, served as an assistant baseball coach for American Legion Post 361 and worked as General Manager of the Virginia Baseball Academy.
