Tony Hermane began work as VMI's first Coordinator of Athletic Multimedia in early July of 2015. Hermane is responsible for staffing, production and editing of VMI's video streaming programs, both on ESPN3 and the SoCon Digital Network, as well as video interviews with players and coaches that are handled by the athletic communications office.
Hermane came to VMI from Storied Rivals Sports Media in Zanesville, Ohio, where he spent just under a year filming and compiling highlight clips from high school football and basketball games in the Zanesville and Columbus areas. Those clips were shows on storiedrivals.com and Buffalo Wild Wings TV in the area. Hermane also edited season-long DVD's for client teams, as well as writing recaps for games and running social media accounts for Storied Rivals.
Prior to that position, Hermane spent just under a year at his alma mater, Ohio University, working as the Assistant Director of Multimedia and Marketing. There, he created content for Ohio athletics and its multimedia platform, BobcatTV. He also directed video streams at home events, managed video on ohiobobcats.com and other outlets and was responsible for creating video board content for game day operations, among other responsibilities.
Hermane also spent time as a freelance production worker in central and southwest Ohio.
Hermane graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications, with a video production emphasis, in 2012. As a student, he spent time as the technical advisor to the Bobcat Sports Showcase, a 30-minute pre-produced show covering OU athletics, and also directed a live 30-minute news program run by fellow students.
Hermane resides in Lexington.
