Stuart Burbidge was hired in June 2025 as the Director of Athletic Multimedia after serving part-time on the broadcast team beginning in August 2024. In his role, Burbidge leads the Institute’s live broadcast efforts for ESPN platforms and manages the production of digital video content for VMI Athletics’ social media, website, and donor engagement.
Prior to joining VMI, Burbidge worked at Southern Virginia University, where he specialized in video and photo content for athletic broadcasts, social media, and web platforms. While at SVU, he played a key role in developing and executing visual strategies to elevate the university’s athletic brand.
A 2024 graduate of Southern Virginia, Burbidge earned a degree in Biology while competing as a four-year member of the Knights’ swimming team. He was named USA South All-Conference in each of his four seasons. Outside the pool, Burbidge demonstrated his leadership and creative abilities by helping all 28 official NCAA athletics accounts for the university.
His skill set includes live sports broadcasting, ESPN-level camera operation, digital storytelling, and content strategy—making him a versatile asset in enhancing the visibility and reach of VMI Athletics.
A native of Riverton, Utah, Burbidge married his wife, Olivia, in 2023 and now resides in Buena Vista, Virginia.
