Former VMI reliever Michael Devine will serve as VMI's student assistant coach during the spring of 2013, as announced recently by head coach Marlin Ikenberry. Devine, coming off of a season spent with the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League, will aid in various aspects of the program as he completes his degree in Economics and Business.

During his four years as a player, Devine would serve as the closer for parts of three seasons and would finish his career second all-time in saves at the Institute.

"Mike has a tremendous passion for the game," said VMI head coach Marlin Ikenberry. "We are very excited to have him as a part of our staff, as he has always wanted to enter the coaching profession."
