Gehrig Anglin joined the VMI Baseball staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in June 2026.
Anglin was a former Wright State standout before being hired by the Raiders' baseball staff in 2024 as an assistant coach, working primarily with infielders. During his stint in the dugout, Wright State collected three Horizon League regular season titles and a conference tournament championship, which led to the Raiders' regional final run in 2025. His team's offensive abilities were strong, ranking in the top 25 in NCAA DI in home runs, runs, slugging, and stolen bases in 2025, and home runs, runs, hits, slugging, and batting average in 2024. In his final season with the Raiders, his infield was in the top 15 in fielding percentage among D-I programs.
While playing for Wright State, Anglin led the program to five conference regular season championships and four conference tournament crowns. The star-studded infielder was named a two-time Horizon League first-team ballot honoree. He tied the program's single-season home run record with 16 bombs and finished his career with a .299 batting average over 177 career games played (147 starts) with 42 doubles, 29 homers, and 133 RBIs.
Anglin graduated from Wright State with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Marketing in 2021.
