Andrew Spadafora

Andrew Spadafora is a native of Provo, Utah and rejoined the VMI Sports Medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2007.  He was promoted to Associate Head Athletic Trainer in July of 2013, and had previously served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer here at VMI during the 2005-2006 academic year.

Spadafora attended Brigham Young University where he served as the President of the Student Athletic Training Association during the 2004-2005 academic year and was named the Outstanding Student Athletic Trainer of the year in 2005. 

He graduated in June 2005 from BYU with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training.  He then went on to the University of Virginia, where he earned his Master of Education in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine in May 2011.

Spadafora is a licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Virginia and is a certified member of The National Athletic Trainers Association.  He is also a member of the McCue Sports Medicine Society.  He serves as a clinical instructor in Athletic Training for the University of Virginia, Western Carolina University and Longwood University under the direction of Lance Fujiwara, Director of Sports Medicine here at VMI.

Spadafora currently serves as an Associate Head Athletic Trainer working primarily with cross country (in the fall), wrestling, and men's and women's soccer (in the spring).  His professional interests include concussions and ethics education/leadership development in the Athletic Training profession.

Andrew enjoys reading and is also an avid sports fan.
