Alexis Andrews comes to VMI by way of East Tennessee State University where she spent the past two years as an ROTC graduate assistant. In this capacity, she completed injury evaluations and created rehab treatment plans for cadets. She also constructed daily injury reports for the cadre and strength and conditioning coach and spent a segment of her training working with the ETSU softball team during its fall ball schedule.
During her time in Johnson City, Andrews also gained athletic training experience with the Tri-Cities Otters of the United Soccer League and at Science Hill High School.
From 2014-18, Andrews studied athletic training at Western Carolina University and gained significant experience performing duties through other universities, including: Furman (Football-2017), College of William and Mary (women’s basketball, M/W gymnastics – 2016-17), and Richmond (spring football-2016).
While in Cullowhee, she also logged experience working with athletes from Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, Asheville School, and Erwin High School. She also spent time at the Angel Medical Center and Blue Ridge Bone and Joint.
Andrews earned a bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Western Carolina in May 2018 before going on to earn a master’s degree in sport management from ETSU in May 2020.
